I cannot believe this is really happening.

Welcome to grecthegecko.com

There's a lot I want to say in this initial post. I want to get right into why I started this blog because I already kind of introduced myself on my 'get to know me' page (you can find that in the menu). So, why did I start grecthegecko.com? There's a few reasons:

1. I really love writing and teaching.  

I've always loved to write. I love getting to share and break down information to help people grow and prosper in all aspects of life, specifically my faith in Jesus.  You will soon find that I have a passion for teaching and education, so getting to have a platform to write and inspire others is something that I've always wanted to do. In fact, if you've known me since I was in middle school you would know that I used to have a blog (that you will never ever find) so it really was just a matter of time until I came full circle to my roots. 

2. I really love Jesus. 

You already saw this coming, and if you've already read my 'get to know me' section, you would have seen that I have a passion for spreading the Gospel. However, before you can spread the Gospel of Jesus, you have to know who He is. Unfortunately there are people out there who have twisted and misconstrued who Jesus is and who He isn't. That breaks my heart mostly because it means that people that love Jesus but have been hurt by human actions and words have gotten the impression that the hate they have received is directly from Jesus. Jesus does NOT inflict hate or pain against those that He loves (and newsflash: He loves you whether you want Him to or not). That's why I love Jesus, and throughout our time on this website, you will learn more about who He is and most importantly who He says we are. 

3. I really love people. 

If you know me in person, you know I am such a people person. Maybe it's because I know that each human was intentionally crafted by God and I see so much beauty in that, or maybe it's because I'm an enneagram 8w7 (we will talk about the enneagram one day LOL). I know for a fact that I love people because Jesus loves people, and He has gifted us the joy of community. Throughout this website, you will get to know other people that I talk about, talk to, or that you meet throughout the comments. People are essential to a relationship with Jesus. They help us connect with the love that Jesus has established, and they're super funny. 

Ok. Who is this for?

I go back and forth in establishing who this website is dedicated for. In a perfect world, this would be geared towards young adults. Why? First of all, I'm a young adult. It's easy to know my audience when I am my audience. However, I recognize that the words that I speak are not just words for young minds. The Gospel is for everyone, from age 3 to 93. If you find that these words resonate with you and your parents and grandparents, praise God. If you find that these words resonate with you and your children and grandchildren, praise God. If you find that this resonates with you and your college roommates, or maybe your friends at school (middle or high school), praise God. God will place this into the hands of the people that need it, and I am confident that He will help guide me in shaping my audience in the future, but for now this is for the young at heart. (that doesn't mean young in age, BTW.)

Great! I don't know Jesus though, so this isn't for me.

NO! You're so wrong!! If you don't know Jesus, that's fine! We all were introduced to Him at some point, so you're not behind and you're not alone. This website is about life. I believe that life is meant to be lived with Jesus, and so we will talk about life that is set in Christ. Jesus has changed lives, and even though you have not met Him or you don't know where to start, you are in the right place. You are welcome here. TL:DR

This website is here because of the work that Jesus is doing in my life. He has blessed my heart with the passion to teach and help grow His kingdom in every aspect. Even if you don't know Him or have no intentions of knowing Him yet, I promise that this website is for you. From life talks to playlists, this is meant to become a community one day. I'm so excited for what God has in store for me and for you.
