Lenten reflection

Jesus, the beholder of our citizenship. 

The greatest observation I've made of society is that a lot of people want a savior. Each of the Abrahamic religions have members who believe in a Savior, one who will come to save all who believe. 
Many non-religious people also want a savior, though. We see this in the hypercritical nature of humanity especially with the rise of technology and social media. People wait and watch for their favorite person to make a misstep or mistake, they are quick to judge and to deem people inherently good or inherently evil. 
Why? People yearn for a person to believe in that is perfect in nature, inherently good, and will save them from evil.

What can we as Christians take from this? Our first reaction would be to yell at the world, screaming at how ridiculous it might sound to seek a Savior and yet reject Jesus. 
What people want more than a Savior is they want Heaven. They want a place absolved from pain and suffering, a place where we are free to exist as we are without judgment. This world isn't fit for them; this world isn't fit for us either. 
How do we approach conversation and coexistence with this mindset? 
Paul reminds the Philippians to follow those in the same mindset and example as Christ, those whose sights are set on their citizenship of Heaven and not of this earth. There are those who seek to make their citizenship this Earth permanent, and then there are those who eagerly wait for Jesus.
Be the latter. Praise God that we have greater things to hope for than the life in this world.
