Great is Thy Faithfulness

I'm actually horrible at getting up in the morning. 
I'm not a morning person. Like at all. 
So when I had to schedule a 6:45 a.m. flight for myself out of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, I was absolutely terrified. I didn't sleep the entire night, scared I was going to miss my Uber to the airport and anxious I was going to miss my flight. ​
I'm often rushing in the morning to get to class, to work, and just to function. However, I think that changing my perspectives of each morning has allowed me to seek each morning with gratitude. 
The Bible has many verses about mornings, and yet it's the passage from Lamentations 3:22-26 that I resonate with. Contextually, it's actually about experiencing loss and heartache. In the midst of hopelessness and fear, we have this hope: "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself 'The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.'"
In the hymn "Great is Thy Faithfulness", the last verse reads: 
​Pardon for sin, and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine with ten thousand beside

Each morning is a picture of our life in Christ, with strength to carry us through the day and the promise of hope for tomorrow: each morning we get the chance to say thank You Jesus. 
I still don't like mornings, and I might not for a while. But I have hope in the mercies that God provides us each morning, and I rest in the promise that God is faithful to those who place their trust in Him. 
The rest of the Lamentations passage reads "The Lord is good to those whose hope in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord." In every morning, I'll rest assured that God's goodness is awaiting.
​Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.
